After successful implementation of PATHEON Farming as the core farming information management system of the EU-funded Agro IT project, meteorological stations and automated pest monitoring systems are currently being installed on pilot farms in Macedonia.
The AgroIT project is currently underway in seven European countries, including Macedonia. The overall objective of the AgroIT project is to increase the efficiency of farming through the open-standards-based AgroIT platform. This overall objective will be achieved through a series of activities: implementation of mobile applications on pilot farms, integration of services and applications to enable extensive data collection, implementation of advanced decision support for farming and integration and creating open standards for integration. Up until October 2016, several pilot farms have been provided with the PANTHEON Farming software for farm management.
Omni-Channel Support for All Pilots Farms
Since July 2016, farmers have been given free training for the software and its features in accordance with their farm’s specific needs. Apart from the ongoing training on location, farmers have access to additional remote help and support from our consultant, which they use continuously via Skype, Viber, SMS, TeamViewer, and other tools for remote connections and desktop support.
The project will last until 31 December 2016
The next phase of the implementation is installing local meteorological stations (up to 10-km range) and automated pest monitoring systems (TRAPVIEW) on pilot farms, which will be connected with the PANTHEON Farming software and will automatically import field data to it. The program then processes it and considers that data in planning and organizing future farm events (fertilization, spraying, harvest, etc.). All of the above activities will be completed by the end of 2016.
